With proper care, Elevated Living’s marble pieces will maintain their elegance and function for decades. This care guide is intended to help customers preserve the integrity and appearance of their marble products.

Daily & Routine Care

1. General Cleaning

• Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe down marble surfaces regularly.
• For deeper cleaning, use a pH-neutral cleaner specifically formulated for natural stone.
• Avoid using abrasive pads, sponges, or harsh chemicals that can etch or dull the marble surface.

2. Spills & Stains

• Wipe spills immediately—especially acidic substances like wine, citrus juice, coffee, vinegar, and tomato sauce, which can stain or etch the surface.
• Blot, don’t wipe, to avoid spreading the spill.

3. Water Marks

• Always use coasters under glasses, especially those containing alcohol or citrus.
• Place a mat or trivet under hot or cold dishes to prevent condensation or thermal shock.

Preventative Measures

1. Sealing Your Marble

• Elevated Living’s marble surfaces come pre-sealed, but we recommend resealing every 6–12 months depending on usage.
• To test if resealing is needed: sprinkle water on the surface—if it darkens within a few minutes, it’s time to reseal.
• Use a high-quality, penetrating stone sealer following manufacturer instructions.

2. Scratch Prevention

• Avoid dragging objects across marble surfaces.
• Use felt pads under decorative items or trays.
• Refrain from using knives or sharp tools directly on the marble.

Deep Cleaning & Maintenance

1. Stain Removal

• For stubborn stains, create a poultice (a paste of baking soda and water or a commercial stone poultice) and apply to the stain.
• Cover with plastic wrap and let sit for 24–48 hours, then gently remove and rinse.
• Always test the poultice on a small area first.

2. Etching

• Etching appears as dull spots caused by acidic exposure. These may require professional resurfacing or polishing kits designed for marble.
• Avoid DIY polishing with abrasive compounds not intended for marble.
