Bring the Outdoors Inside Your Home
Bringing the outdoors inside your home has become a popular trend in interior design in recent years, and for good reason. It not only adds a natural touch to your living space but can also provide a refreshing and calming atmosphere. Lisa found many ways to incorporate the outdoors into the Butler Creek interior design project. The wall of windows in the great room fills the main living area with rejuvenating light, the bathroom shower feels like it is immersed in nature, and the incorporation of stone and wood elements adds an organic touch to every room.
Use Natural Materials
For the great room, Lisa incorporated wood, stone, iron, and linen to bring a relaxing vibe to the living space and creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Using wooden furniture such as the rich-toned coffee table in front of the floor to ceiling stone fireplace, an inlaid wood sideboard and classic dining room chairs, all adds an eclectic yet unified touch of nature to the space. By using these materials, Lisa has created a warm and inviting atmosphere that reflects the beauty of the outdoors.
Let In Natural Light
Lisa incorporated an array of windows into the main living areas, including the master bath, kitchen, and bedrooms. These expansive windows allow for unrestricted views of the outdoor surroundings and provide an abundance of natural light throughout the day. The benefits of these windows not only permit the beauty of the outdoors to be seen from inside but also has various health advantages. Access to sunlight can enhance one’s energy, mood, and overall well-being. Furthermore, diffused light supplements the illusion of a more expansive and welcoming living space.

Neutrals & Vibrant Earth Colors
By combining neutral fabrics with earthy colors, natural textures, and mixed patterns, Lisa created a lively and inviting atmosphere in the Butler Creek living space. She kept the overall color palette balanced and harmonious to avoid overwhelming the space. With subtle creativity, she brought the beauty of the outdoors inside the home and created a refreshing and uplifting atmosphere.
Nature Inspired Art
Lisa elevated the visual appeal by working with the client to introduce a cohesive gallery of nature-inspired paintings and photographs throughout every space in the home. To maintain a harmonious style, she meticulously selected a single, large artwork as the focal point, such as a scenic landscape or mountain range shot. For smaller collections, Lisa curated a striking gallery showcasing a diverse mix of sizes, styles and frames. In addition, she incorporated the owners’ personal collection of artworks gathered from their travels, ingeniously blending different styles to create an intriguing, multi-dimensional aesthetic.
Light Fixtures & Wrought Iron Accents
Lisa skillfully complemented the exposed ceiling beams and metal trusses of Butler Creek’s structure by incorporating wrought iron lighting fixtures such as chandeliers, sconces, and pendant lights. By doing so, she not only enhanced the metal elements but also created a seamless and cohesive look. The fixtures provide a soothing warmth and create an inviting ambiance, while adding a dash of industrial modern styling to the decor. Additionally, Lisa elevated the decor’s elegance and sophistication by adding iron decorative accents, including lamps, candle holders, and plant stands.
Textiles
Lisa skillfully added texture and depth to Butler Creek’s decor by choosing quality fabrics such as natural fibers like linen, wool, and silk. Through mixing and matching these textures, she created a dynamic and layered look, experimenting with colors that complemented each other. Natural fibers were the key ingredient in her strategy, as they are more durable and long-lasting than synthetic materials, making them a valuable investment. Her use of neutrals, rich hues, and pops of color through silk and wool, added warmth and character to the living space. Lisa’s attention to detail in fabric selection has given Butler Creek a sophisticated edge.
Immerse Yourself in Nature
The design for the master bathroom was to bring the tranquility of nature into the comfort of a private sanctuary. The bathroom boasts a luxurious soaker tub and rainfall shower surrounded by windows that offer breathtaking views of the wilderness. Complete with pale green walls and natural stone accents, this space transports you to a serene oasis in the heart of the woods. It is the ultimate indulgence for immersing yourself in the beauty of your surroundings.
