Melinda Dorion – Lead Interior Designer

Melinda Dorion

I am best described by my friends as loyal. My family would say that I’m extremely hardworking, but the word that best describes me is tenacious. I wake up every morning and jump out of bed, thrilled to get to the office and work with my team and clients local and afar. The energy in the office consists of highly caffeinated and empowered women who equally share in my vision.

I moved to Jackson in 2002 for the love of the mountains, healthy lifestyle and all that Jackson has to offer.

The design direction of Elevated Living tips its hat at Mountain Modern, blending traditional Western flair with clean contemporary lines. It has been such a blessing to work in a profession that I love and a design aesthetic I have always been drawn to.

Seven years ago, my husband and I purchased a horse property on three acres in a surrounding community of Jackson Hole. Bringing our hobby farm to life and seeing our forever home transformed has been incredibly rewarding. We are surrounded by Schumacher fabrics, reclaimed wood furniture, heavy duty commercial grade vinyl to hold up to two little boys, and lighting from Ralph Lauren. My style is light, airy and modern yet inviting. I cherish each piece of furniture and the accessories that I have meticulously selected for its durability and comfort. I love my home and my goal is to have all of my clients feel the way I do when they pull into their driveway. My mission is to provide my clients with curb appeal, function, character, and the warmth of a home to appeal to their aesthetic. Designing a residence for our clientele is such an honor and a personal experience.

I am grateful I have had years of experience working with all genres of design from traditional to contemporary. My favorite will always be a classic log home with wood chinking and twisted logs. I love to see and feel the history of the residence, this may be because I am a logger’s daughter. As a graduation present from design school, my father granted me with 40 acres of prime hardwood maple. Strange to some, but it’s my story.

Growing the design firm with Pamela Stockton from a simple design studio, to now a 3,000 square foot furniture showroom, 10 years ago, seemed like it happened overnight. Looking back, the team of two has grown to a team of 10 Designers and Project Managers. We oversee Construction, Project Management, Owners’ Representation, Interior Design, Rendering and Schematic Presentations. This past year we launched our Online E-Commerce Store and through many sleepless nights, it’s been an incredible feat of tenacity. I am most excited about bringing my passion for design to clientele outside of the Rocky Mountain Region.
