IT’S TRANSFORMATION TIME!
We love a good Before + After, and this living and dining room transformation is one of our favorites.
With a primary residence full of traditional furniture and antiques, these clients wanted to get away from their roots and leave the formality behind on the East Coast. To achieve a breezy mountain aesthetic, we focused on comfort, texture, and relaxed forms. Pattern and color was incorporated enthusiastically, in the form of a handful of luxury fabrics.
Our only design parameter was that this room needed to function as an office. We created a window seat to store all office supplies and files, and introduced a game table to act as a desk when needed. We were able to wire-in reading sconces at the same time that we ditched the baseboard heater and installed cove heating.
The final result is a cozy hang-out and game space, that is the most used room in the house!

That’s another Before + After for the books!
Big high-five to Kristen of Bison Custom Cabinetry for fitting an entire office (including printer!) into the window seat, and to Samantha Livingston Photography for the great shots.
